ON THE RAILINGS. ART PROJECT FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS AND CIVIC GROUPS

23 November 2018 - 22 February 2019

ON THE RAILINGS. ART PROJECT FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS AND CIVIC GROUPS

Opening times: Friday, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

On the Railings is a creative, educational programme whose goal is to encourage meetings, dialogue and outreach between the museum and the local residents of Santiago de Compostela.

It is a proposal in which the public will hold their own contemporary art exhibition using artworks from the CGAC Collection. The participants will be able to learn, on good authority, about all the hidden processes, stages and aspects of an art exhibition.

Our goal is to make local people become key players in the cultural processes of their environment by creating contents that are part of the CGAC programming.

The project is structured around a series of workshops in which we will teach the key points of contemporary art and the work of its main figures.

The CGAC will act as a platform to give meaning to personal or collective narratives, creating a common space between community and heritage. We will try to give visibility to new discourses that enable connections to be established between the institution, the public and the context.
