CHRISTMAS WORKSHOPS 2021
During the Christmas holidays, the CGAC will hold two workshops for children on the thought-provoking exhibition Paths II. Activities for children in which they can experiment and explore contemporary art. An opportunity to discover creative processes and become immersed in them through the languages, supports, materials, techniques and concepts of contemporary art.
Rebeca Mariño and Natalia Santamaría have designed two workshops for children on the Camino, using nature as a backdrop for walks and changes in light, colour, climate and environment.
Footprints in the Landscape
28–29 December
Timetable: 11 a.m.–12.30 p.m.
For children aged 7 to 9
Places: 15
Using the exhibition Paths II as a starting point, we’ll venture into the world of contemporary art through proposals hidden in works by different artists such as Andrés Pinal, Irene Grau, Jorge Barbi or Marina Abramović. Strolling, walking, hiking or going on a pilgrimage can lead to great adventures across hitherto unexplored landscapes. Like the artists in this exhibition, we’ll seek out different strategies to leave our footprints on the trail.
Using projected shadows, we’ll create our own landscape and characters that interact with it, guided by the light signals from our own beacons.
One and the Same Walk
28–29 December
Timetable: 11.30 a.m.–12.30 p.m.
For children aged 5 to 6
Places: 10
The museum is also a refuge, a meeting place where people can chat, discover and learn alongside others. Together we’ll go on a journey through the exhibition Paths II in search of new relationships with contemporary art.
We’ll use our bodies as tools to create, strolling and walking over snowy mountains, crossing rivers jumping from stone to stone and through burnt woodlands under starry skies, communicating with one another via simple light codes like the beacons that guide ships on their journeys.
