The Christmas workshops are back at the CGAC to immerse ourselves, with our little ones, in contemporary art through experimentation and fun.

On this occasion, the CGAC is hosting two workshops inspired by the exhibition Paths III, which will be a starting point to play with our body’s movements and sensations, explore concepts such as walking, experiment with materials from nature and understand the importance of caring for the environment.

Programme:

Imagining the Landscape

27, 28 and 29 December

Time: 11.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m.

For children from 7 to 9 years old

Places: 20

How can nature inspire us? What is our favourite path?

In this adventure, our bodies can become places for exploration through movement and sensations. We will draw new paths and let ourselves be surprised by the possibilities of working with nature.

We will use different methods and materials such as collage, we will make compositions with materials from nature and we will play at building spaces to surprise ourselves with what is closest to us, imagining new worlds and building our ideal landscapes. We will also use the body to leave our prints.

A World to Explore

3, 4 and 5 January

Time: 11.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.

For children from 4 to 6 years old

Places: 20

Following in the footsteps of artists like Mona Hatoum, Juan Lesta, Damián Ucieda and Jürgen Partenheimer, we will experiment with the possibilities and worlds that open up along the way. The body will be a new space for creation, and through it we will investigate and activate new sensations.

We will ask ourselves how to improve our towns, cities and countryside to build new landscapes using techniques such as collage, construction and compositions with found objects. We will also venture into unexplored territories inspired by performance.

Registration:

The workshops are free. Applications for registration can be submitted from 2 November to 29 December 2022 at 13:00 by sending an email to cgac.educacion@xunta.gal.
