Gema Baños

The CGAC was invited by the Teatro Real to take part in the live broadcast of one of the most popular operas in history— Turandot, the final work of the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini.

This work narrates the story of a cold-hearted princess with one mission—if her suitors can’t solve three riddles, they’ll be sentenced to death. With breathtaking music, including one of the most famous arias of all time—Nessun dorma—Turandot is an opera not to be missed, and which, on this occasion, is accompanied by beautiful staging by the brilliant artist Robert Wilson.

Robert Wilson is an American artist with a multifaceted career in the world of opera and theatre. An avant-garde stage director and playwright, he often designs the set and lighting for his productions, which means that he visualises not only the figures or characters on the stage, but also everything that surrounds them and gives the play its meaning.
