ART WORKSHOP: CREATING WITH EVERYDAY OBJECTS

Over the course of four days, taking the exhibition Misha Bies Golas as our starting point, we will transform the museum into a laboratory for experimentation, where we will turn everyday objects into works of art. We will explore unexpected associations and draw on humour, imagination, chance, absurdity and creative techniques such as collecting, grouping, expanding, concentrating, suspending, dividing and repeating to create small-scale installations.
Painting, assemblage, collage and creativity will be the main tools of this workshop. Through a range of hands-on activities, participants will be able to investigate, move, combine and explore ordinary materials and objects, taking them out of their usual context and function and placing them in dialogue with different spaces within the museum. An invitation to discover that things are not always what they seem and that, sometimes, the simplest ideas can lead to the most surprising creations.
ART WORKSHOP: SHADOW HERE AND SHADOW THERE

In this workshop, we will explore the exhibitions Rumor by Alexandra Ranner, Misha Bies Golas, and Forgotten Island. CGAC Collection, to discover the diversity of materials, formats, ideas and perspectives that coexist within the museum. After viewing many of the artworks that share the same space and engage in dialogue with one another, we will draw on some of their key ideas as inspiration for our own creations.
We will choose our favourite artwork and reimagine it; explore creative writing, visual poetry and flat three-dimensional collages; investigate the concepts of house and home; and create a world of shadows, both inside the museum and in nature, through experimentation with darkness, light, colour, mirrors and the magic of ultraviolet light.
MULTIGENERATIONAL IMAGINATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP: THIS IS NOT AN OBJECT

In this workshop, we will learn how to manipulate, alter and transform everyday objects so that they take on a new dimension through photography. We will set up a studio with flash units, diffusers, reflectors, coloured gels, etc. and create our own photo set.
We will build small sculptures using items brought from home and photograph them in a sculptural style as an introduction to product photography.
We will explore portraiture, identity and masks, and in the final session, we will create a short script and a stop-motion animation featuring our creations.
PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP USING UNCONVENTIONAL DEVICES: FLIGHT MODE

In this workshop, we will explore the history of image production without using a camera. We will begin with direct printing techniques and move on to contemporary image creation and new forms of image construction and circulation (appropriation, archives and found footage), understanding photographic creation as a process in which both devices and cultural construction, as well as new digital contexts, play a role.
We will work with unconventional image-capturing devices such as scanners, CCTV cameras, webcams, Google Street View and screenshots to create our own series of images by the end of the workshop, which we will share in virtual spaces not typically used in artistic contexts.

In the case of workshops aimed at minors, the name and ID number of the person or persons authorised to collect them from the CGAC once the activity has finished must also be provided.
