WE REFUGEES. ARTIST`S WORKSHOP

30 September 2019 - 02 October 2019

10 am-2 pm

The artist’s workshop conceived by Elo Vega and Rogelio López Cuenca for the CGAC consists of a critical reinterpretation of the way in which our perception of the migratory phenomenon can be built on contemporary artistic practices.

Through a series of specific cases, the artists invite us to analyse different strategies applied in art intervention projects relating to the theme of the exhibition We Refugees, on view until October 13. Possible practical projects will also be considered, taking into account the specific context in which we find ourselves.

Elo Vega (Huelva, 1967) and Rogelio López Cuenca (Nerja, 1959). Visual and investigative artists who have worked together since 2005 on research and creation projects; artistic works which are, at the same time, cultural criticism mechanisms used as a political instrument.

Together, they deploy their activity through audiovisual productions, exhibitions, publications, interventions in public spaces and online works, mainly carried out in conjunction with other artists or with students and researchers from different disciplines.

Their projects, defined by a marked procedural disposition, pursue their possible dissolution into protracted processes, and they flow beyond the field of artistic practices to span out in other directions, other territories, and with other uses.
