7 VISIÓNS. SUMRRÁ IN CONCERT
The jazz trio Sumrrá will give a themed and narrated concert featuring works from their album 7 visións (2021). The pieces in this album speak of the perpetual dance of the cosmos, reflect on the timeless question of our peripheral position within it, and speculate on what might have taken place during the Big Bang.
In addition, they will premiere a new composition, A oitava visión. O zoom cuántico (The Eighth Vision. The Quantum Zoom), inspired by quantum physics and created especially for this event. The piece plays with the idea of transition from classical physics to the quantum revolution, and explores how a single reality may change depending on one’s position, proximity, focus, or the technology involved.
To link the repertoire of the album and the new piece with various concepts in physics, the concert will feature Manuel Caamaño, researcher at the IGFAE and musician, who will analyse the compositions performed during the event from both scientific and artistic perspectives.
This concert is an initiative funded by Quorum, a project aimed at promoting an innovation ecosystem in quantum computing, in collaboration with the Galician Network of Quantum Technologies. The network brings together the Regional Ministries of Economy, Industry and Innovation and Health, as well as the Galician Agency for Technological Modernisation (Amtega), the three Galician universities, CESGA, the TIC Cluster, the innovation hubs Dihgigal and DATAlife, the Gradiant technology centre, Fujitsu International Quantum Centre, and the Photonics Technologies Centre (Aephos). Quorum is financed by the CDTI through funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
