ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE EXHIBITION 'PERCEPTION AND UNCERTAINTY'
The exhibition Perception and Uncertainty addresses some of the most decisive changes and consequences that recent developments in science and technology are bringing about in our present, a time characterised by speed and transience.
The impact that cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and bioengineering have on human perception and sensibility—both at an individual and a social level—alerts us to the dangers they entail. At the same time, however, this new landscape has helped to foster more empathetic perspectives that are more attentive to alternative models of perception.
The works of Max de Esteban critically examine the impact of technology, while Jaione Camborda’s installation immerses us in a capsule of limitations that allows for an empathetic understanding of the condition of a person who is deafblind.
To explore both critical perspectives in greater depth, two complementary activities are proposed. Mónica Bello, former Director of the Artistic Residency Programme at CERN, will be in conversation with Jaione Camborda about the development process of the project Ensayo fílmico sobre la sordoceguera (Film Essay on Deafblindness, 2025), created within the framework of those residencies in Geneva. Meanwhile, Santiago Olmo, curator of the exhibition Perception and Uncertainty and Director of the CGAC, will talk with Max de Esteban about the impact of new technological horizons on our democratic societies.
