Through movement, improvisation and collective creation, in this eight-session dance laboratory we’ll question the ways we inhabit everyday spaces: public buildings, squares, streets, walls, and forgotten corners of the city. We’ll explore the spaces designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira in the CGAC and other forms of urban architecture.

The aim of the project, launched to coincide with International Dance Day, is not only to dance, but also to intervene in, engage with, and reinvent the spaces around us, transforming them into a place of encounter, art and living memory. This programme integrates the principles of Laban Movement Analysis, developed by Rudolf Laban, with concepts of spatial architecture, encouraging the exploration of the body in relation to the surrounding space, form and structure. Through practical activities and theoretical reflections, we offer an interdisciplinary approach combining dance, pedagogy and architecture, highlighting the importance of the body as a perceptive and creative tool.

No prior experience is required to participate in this activity. We invite participants to open their bodies and minds and explore new ways of connecting with one another and with the world around us.

PAULA QUINTAS (Ourense, 1983) is a dancer, circus artist, choreographer, teacher and cultural manager. She holds a master's degree in performing arts from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and she explores the limits and intersections of the body arts within the PhD Programme in Creation and Research in Contemporary Art at the Universidad de Vigo.
