With the arrival of Christmas, like every year, the CGAC presents its proposal of activities aimed at children from 4 to 9 years old.

Participants will have the opportunity to experience and explore contemporary art under the guidance of educator and artist Rebeca Mariño.

We’ll visit the museum’s rooms in search of inspiration for our work. We’ll travel through the dreams, journeys and emotions of Mayte Vieta, following the idea of space-refuge that the artist offers us. We’ll enter the vibrant installation by Lois Patiño, we’ll activate the suggestive work of Laida Lertxundi and we’ll reflect on the use and abuse of landscape in the audiovisual piece by Oliver Laxe.

We’ll paint, build, use sounds, lights, shadows, superimpositions of colours, filters and our bodies to create. We’ll imagine our own paradises using different materials, such as fabric, shiny elements or objects, and we’ll intervene with them in the museum space. We’ll play with music and words to narrate the stories hidden in the works of different artists.

PROGRAMME

WINDOW TO PARADISE
26 and 27 December
Time: 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
Age: 4 to 6 years old
Places: 15
Led by: Rebeca Mariño
Registration period: from 11 November to 23 December

Mayte Vieta's exhibition, The Sound of the Sea, will be the starting point to investigate the relationship between our body and nature and the world around us. What do we feel when we walk through a city? And when we walk in the mountains or in the forest? What do the trees, flowers and earth smell like? Imagine climbing to the top of a mountain to look at the world from above. What do we hear? How do we feel? And when we look out over the vastness of the sea? What would it be like to live in the water? We’ll explore the most unknown space of the sea, immersing ourselves in its depths to experience the feeling of calm, of silence and of finding ourselves in a surprising ecosystem. We’ll create with elements that glow in the dark, such as fish and abyssal plants. We’ll play with coloured filters and lights.
The places created by the filmmakers exhibiting at the CGAC will also lead us to explore the landscape through sound, veiled imagery, nocturnality and colour. With these parameters we’ll create our ‘new imaginaries.’
What is our paradise?

AN ABYSSAL POSTCARD
2 and 3 January
Time: 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
Age: 7 to 9 years old
Places: 20
Led by: Rebeca Mariño
Registration period: from 11 November to 30 December

Narrate, relate, refer, historicise... People are always looking for ways to leave their mark, to transmit their history, their experience, their knowledge. Through artistic expression, we can communicate our ideas and thoughts. We’ll use words, painting, sculpture, photography, music and film in order to share ourselves.
In this workshop, we’ll extract the possible stories hidden in Mayte Vieta's landscapes and in the exhibition New Imaginaries. We’ll build shadows and play at narrating our own landscapes and filtering our reality to discover new perspectives. We’ll also travel to abyssal worlds to capture them in creative postcards and we’ll recreate the sounds of the depths using everyday objects such as musical instruments.
