CHRISTMAS WORKSHOPS 2025
This Christmas, the CGAC is organising two workshops aimed at children aged 4 to 9. These playful activities will give participants the chance to discover contemporary art and experiment with different creative practices under the guidance of educators Sofía Mediero and Lucía Amoedo.
We will explore the universe of several artists through the exhibitions Territory. Video Art from Central America, Carlos Pazos. Nicasso, and Perception and Uncertainty, which are currently on view at the CGAC.
We will delve into the history of the original cultures of various Central American countries, exploring aspects such as their rituals, traditions, sense of community, and relationship with nature. We will also observe the pop elements in the work of Carlos Pazos and reflect on the magic contained in the act of collecting. What do we collect and why? In addition, we will visit an intriguing installation that invites us to venture beyond what is visible.
In connection with these exhibitions, we will propose a range of creative activities adapted to different age groups: working with materials such as sugar to build ephemeral sculptures, creating masks with malleable elements, becoming aware of the body and playing with its possibilities for transformation and expression, making collages, giving new meaning to everyday objects by endowing them with creative properties, seeking the link between colours and emotions by inventing our own colour, temporarily depriving ourselves of sight to perceive the world through touch, smell and trust in others, carrying out a scent-tasting activity with aromas from our surroundings, or observing images that transform as we move through space to inspire the creation of hybrid beings.
We will stimulate emotions, imagination and improvisation, encouraging each participant to discover their own way of looking, feeling and creating.

REGISTRATION
The workshops are free of charge. Applications can be submitted by sending an email to inscricionscgac@gmail.com. Those interested should provide the following information: name of the workshop they wish to register for, full name and age of the children taking part, telephone number, email address, and name and ID number of the persons authorised to collect the children at the end of the activity.
A maximum of two participants can be registered in each application. Each applicant will receive a confirmation e-mail. Places will be filled in strict order of registration.
