The International Council of Museums (ICOM) proposes celebrating the International Museum Day under the slogan ‘Museums for Education and Research’.
The GCAC has programmed a week of free activities around this event based on education and contemporary music, art education and artistic creation, performance and the history of photography, in addition to a guided tour of the least-known corners of the CGAC.
PROGRAMME OF DIDACTIC CONCERTS OTHER TYPES OF MUSIC ARE POSSIBLE
We’re starting Museum Week with a programme of five educational concerts for different audiences: four concerts for children and one for adults.
The sessions will focus on active listening, the possibilities faced by contemporary composition, and the judgement processes of the listeners. In an enjoyable, practical and participatory way, artists and listeners will go hand in hand into the marvellous world of possible music, asking ourselves questions such as: What is and isn’t music? Why do we like one kind of music and not another? Where is the music I need and how can I find it? Is there any music that’s too complex? Is there any music that’s too simple? Can music be good or bad?
