For the fourth consecutive year, the CGAC is collaborating with the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) to bring you nerd nites. On March 30th, at 9:30 p. m., the latest edition will take place at La Cantina, CGAC’s coffee shop.
Over the course of these special evenings, presenters talk with the audience about the disciplines they are so passionate about in a low-key manner that is anything but academic. These conversations centre around literature, politics, medicine, mathematics, biology, art, and their objective is to simplify concepts and content.
Originating in the United States, Nerds arrived to Santiago de Compostela four years ago, turning the city into a pioneer for this initiative in Spain. Nerd, which stands for Non-Emotionally-Responding Dude, is a person who blends his passions into his everyday life, making his personality somewhat peculiar.
The presenters combine their brilliant academic career with a tremendous ability to communicate; both of these are necessary requirements for participating in this activity.
The event, which is free of charge, will be open to the public until max capacity is reached.
