SOLOS IN THE CGAC. Educational Concert Programme
Solos in the CGAC is a series of four concerts given by four performers: piano, vocals, accordion and drums.
The initiative immerses students —from Year 9 and above— in the world of contemporary music written by great composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Unlike in the case of larger musical ensembles, solo concerts offer members of the public a rare chance to experience a unique way of hearing, perceiving all the communication and expression possibilities a solo instrument is capable of developing.
Attending these concerts will help students develop their artistic sensitivity, and interact better with the music and culture of their time, as well as widen their ability to concentrate and appreciate the creativity of current performers. It will also provide them with an opportunity to discover unusual instruments and techniques that will be presented through examples prior to each work.
