STRENGTHENING AND SUPPORTING THE GALICIAN ARTISTIC SECTOR FROM THE GROUND. I Artistic Professionalisation Conference
A Colectiva (Professional Association of Artists of Galicia), in collaboration with CGAC, brings to Galicia a format of conferences that has been organised for some time in other regions of Spain and that responds to an urgent demand from the art sector in our territory. These First Professionalisation Conferences for Artists, which will take place from 12 to 14 December at the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea, aim to promote the full professional development of artistic activity, contributing to social progress through the recognition and regulation of the artistic and cultural sector, and combating the precariousness affecting culture.
The conference will feature a comprehensive programme with more than twenty-five speakers: artists, representatives of professional artists’ associations —regional (PAAC, AVAAC) and national (UNIÓN AC)—, cultural agents, and specialists from both the Galician and Spanish sectors who are recognised figures at national and international level. Representing the Ministry of Culture will be Txema Urquijo, adviser to the Secretary of State for Culture and coordinator of the work on the development of the Artist’s Statute since 2021, and Jesús Carrillo, Deputy Director-General for Visual Arts and Contemporary Creation.
