FERNANDO JOSÉ PEREIRA. APARENTEMENTE NADA SE PASSA
Fernando Jose Pereira is one of the Portuguese artists who have most actively participated in Galicia’s artistic context. He holds a Doctor’s degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Pontevedra; he has exhibited in Galicia in events such as the Biennial of Pontevedra in 1998, he has participated in the presentation of two individual exhibits at the Fundación Luís Seoane of A Coruña (1998) and at the Auditorio de Galicia of Santiago de Compostela, in 1998 and 2004, respectively, and in the exhibit that was organized last year by the art gallery Ad Hoc in Vigo.
His work as professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Oporto is complemented with a reflexive practice which, through his work, reaches a level that is almost as important as his strictly artistic practice. Not is vain is he a founding member, together with Miguel Leal and Cristina Mateus, of VIROSE (www.virose.pt), one of the first Internet sites created in Portugal for reflecting on the relations between art and technology.
