9th CGAC Prize for Research and Essays on Contemporary Art
The CGAC is inviting submissions for the 9th CGAC Prize for Research and Essays on Contemporary Art, an initiative that aims to encourage research and critical writing on contemporary art through the submission of original works written in the Galician language. The prize carries an award of €3,000.
The competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over who submits an original, previously unpublished text on contemporary art, written in Galician for a general readership and produced without the use of artificial intelligence systems. Entries must be between 150,000 and 450,000 characters, including spaces.
The deadline for submissions is 18 September 2026.

Jury Members
The jury responsible for assessing the applications submitted for the 9th CGAC Prize for Research and Essays on Contemporary Art will be chaired by the Director of the CGAC, Eva López Tarrío, and will include Carmen Hermo Sánchez, Pilar Corredoira López and Manuel Vilariño Seco as members.
