Opening times

The opening times of the CGAC are as follows:

  • Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
     Monday, closed
  • Closed: 1 and 6 January, 24, 25 and 31 December

Clearance of the rooms will commence 10 minutes before closing time, except for visits or activities scheduled outside of public opening hours.

 

Getting here and access

The museum is located at 2 Calle Ramón del Valle Inclán, Santiago de Compostela.

The main entrance is set under a covered atrium on the building’s south façade and can be accessed via a ramp or two flights of stairs.

The CGAC café has independent access located on the building’s east façade, alongside the entrance to Bonaval Park.

 

Admission and guided visits

Admission to exhibitions is free.

The CGAC offers guided visits to its temporary exhibitions, with and without appointments, all year round. All visits are free and accompanied by mediators specialised in art.

 

General rules for access

  • Children under 14 must always be accompanied by an adult.
  • For security reasons, access to the CGAC’s facilities is not allowed with suitcases, bags, or backpacks larger than 30 x 30 cm. It is also is expressly prohibited to access the exhibition rooms with umbrellas, tripods, pointed sticks, or any other object or substance that may pose a risk to individuals or the works of art.
  • Inside the building, and unless expressly stated otherwise, photography with mobile phones or hand-held cameras is permitted.
  • Flash photography and the use of selfie-sticks, tripods, or other stabilising elements are not permitted.
  • Filming videos inside the building is not permitted without prior authorisation from the management or the centre’s press department.
  • Animals are not allowed inside the building, except for guide dogs or therapeutic animals, with the corresponding accreditation.
  • Food and drink cannot be taken into the rooms.
  • Scooters, skateboards, bicycles, or skates are not allowed inside the building.

 

Facilities

Wi-Fi

The CGAC offers free Wi-Fi in the building to facilitate users’ access to digital resources.

Lockers

The centre has individual lockers in the auditorium lobby for the safe storage of personal effects during the visit.

First Aid

Should any health needs arise during your visit, the First Aid Kit is located in the centre's lobby. Ask the reception staff for help.

 

Accessibility

As part of its commitment to universal accessibility, the CGAC is constantly working on improving its services, to achieve full accessibility, and on developing an educational programme that offers quality attention to a broad range of audiences.

The building is equipped with ramps and lifts that facilitate access and movement through almost all the spaces open to the public. There is a toilet adapted for the use of individuals with reduced mobility on the first floor next to the library.
