Continuing with the Mundo Quark project that was carried out last year as part of the San Pedro neighbourhood festivities programme, the CGAC is once again collaborating with the A Xuntanza neighbourhood association and the IGFAE (Instituto Galego de Física de Altas Energías) in organising a second edition of this workshop exploring the interconnection between dance and science.

This workshop invites anyone who wants to learn about quantum chromodynamics and other wonders to interact with the possibilities for exploration their bodies offer, in movement and in dialogue with the environment. The public will be able to participate in a session designed to connect art and science by hybriding theoretical parameters and artistic practices.

PAULA QUINTAS (Ourense, 1983) is a dancer, circus artist, choreographer, teacher and cultural manager. She has a Master's degree in Performing Arts from the Rey Juan Carlos University and is currently researching the limits and convergences of the body arts within the Doctorate Programme in Creation and Research in Contemporary Art at the University of Vigo. As a company, Paula Quintas - Cía has had a career spanning ten years, producing shows in a variety of formats and disciplines. Her trademark is hybriding dance and circus. Her work stands out for the dialogue between the body and movement, generating a visual and experiential component through contemporary codes. Her most recent shows as a creator are Aurora boreal (2025), Multiperspectivas (2021-2024), El salón de los pasos perdidos (2023), Nina Ninette (2021), SET (2020), Alma (non é hippie) (2019), Plastic (2018), Analepsis (2017) and Up2down (2015).

HÉCTOR ÁLVAREZ POL (Ribas de Sil, Lugo, 1972) is a professor in the Department of Particle Physics at the University of Santiago de Compostela and a researcher at IGFAE, and he moves his body to the rhythm of tango. He will introduce the participants of the workshop to the basic elements and fundamental interactions of physics as central tools in the conversation with contemporary dance.

TARGET AUDIENCE

The workshop is aimed at anyone interested in the body as an expressive tool through the curiosities of quantum physics.

REGISTRATION
