For two decades now Claudio Zulian has been working intensively creating and reflecting on the idea of territory, interpreted as that part of the world in which groups, societies and individuals live and experience in a specific way. His visual and sound installation pieces, films, photographs, poems, prose and essays explore the density and complexity of territories as they are generated, defined and experienced at the present time.
Its drifting in two opposite and complementary senses has been a constant in abstraction¡s long journey, soon to complete its first 100 years. There i the path whose priority is inmediate, spontaneus and direct expression, and the there is that which is guided by calculatio, rigor and rules, it is confirmed that in the last two decades, painters suchas Richard Aldrich, José Loureiro, Nico Munuera and Juan Uslé from different national traditions nevertheless coincide in a common understanding that sustains their practices in a rational base, that never constitutes a demanding and closed system, and that up to the momentary and unexpected impulse of the artist.
Once again the celebration of International Museum Day will serve to launch the series, Music and Art. Sound Correspondences is a meeting point for the music and art of our times—a place that welcomes all of today’s creative expressions, and offers the public an experience to become familiar with the most progressive aesthetic trends, the most outstanding composers on the new music scene and the most interesting perspectives for the development of new music. The trademark of the concert series is the creation of music inspired by the exhibitions on show at the CGAC. The latest edition includes educational activities with general rehearsals open to school children and specific activities for music students, as well as the rehearsals customarily open to the public and conversations with the composers.
