Pequena historia da fotografía is the catalog of the exhibition of the same title held at the CGAC from March to May 2009.
The starting point for Pequena historia da fotografía is a piece by Iñaki Bonillas bearing such a title as that given by Walter Benjamin to one of his essays. The Mexican's work comprises thirty light boxes in which he gathers thirty photography albums from his family's collection. This pequena historia is therefore a personal history: possibly the one from a previous selection, which leaves a specific heritage. With a similar procedure, reflecting at a macro level over a micro situation, this exhibition takes a small part of the CGAC's existing archives to tell this short history of contemporary photography.
