Activities

The CGAC's Activities and Pedagogical Department develops its programme with a primary goal: to bring art to society through the rigorous analysis of critical issues inherent in contemporary artistic activity.

Film seasons and conferences, workshops, seminars and concerts, make up the centre’s fundamental offer of activities, aiming to involve a wide range of audiences from the professional sector of the world of art and culture to an increasingly larger group of artists and fine art and history students, not to mention all those interested in the evolution of art and aesthetic reflection.

At the same time, the CGAC develops specific programmes for schools and colleges as well as guided tours, with the purpose of providing the various groups who come to the museum with the necessary tools to understand contemporary art and, from there, the world we live in.

30 April The documentary reflects the work undertaken by the Danish group Efterklang in Piramida, near the North Pole, for the creation of their latest record. The CGAC continues to develop the project Without Leaving the Sofa (from an original idea by Arquitectives), a series of workshops on architecture that aim to enlighten participants regarding different cities, with the aid of other colleagues from Spain who, like them, will be participating in the project.

O CGAC continúa a desenvolver o proxecto Sen moverte do sofá (idea orixinal de Arquitectives), un ciclo de talleres de arquitectura que pretende dar a coñecer aos asistentes diferentes cidades coa axuda doutros compañeiros do territorio español que, coma eles, participan no proxecto.

9 febreiro O auditorio do CGAC acollerá o Foro DAG: propostas de avance para o deseño, unha iniciativa da Asociación Galega de Deseñadores dirixida a todas as persoas interesadas no deseño e no papel que este debe xogar na sociedade actual.

Este venres, 25 de xaneiro, entre as 11 e as 13.30 horas celebraremos un taller experimental de arquitectura en colaboración co COAG (Colexio de Arquitectos de Galicia) e Asociación de Pais de Persoas con Transtorno de Espectro Autista.

21 e 26 decembro Fotografar un espazo de arte contemporánea, camiñar na procura da mirada persoal arredor das exposicións e do edificio de Álvaro Siza ou o parque de San Domingos de Bonaval é a proposta do fotógrafo Fuco Reyes (Santiago de Compostela, 1965) para esta sesión de achegamento que vincula imaxe e arquitectura.

Na véspera do Samaín, o artista madrileño Jack Mircala chega ao Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea cargado coas súas cartolinas, lapis de cores, pegamentos, tesoiras e cutters, e disposto a desvelar os segredos que o converteron nun dos ilustradores máis orixinais do panorama español.
