PUBLIC COLLECTIONS UNDER DEBATE: CGAC COLLECTION
PARALLEL MEETINGS AT THE CGAC AND THE FACULTY OF GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY OF THE USC
The efforts of contemporary art museums to build and present their collections has become a priority and a fundamental discursive axis of artistic debates.
Implosion: Conceptual Art in the CGAC Collection (1965-1975) is an exhibition which is understood as a case study and a first step towards a series of exhibitions that develop the discourses corresponding to different periods within the CGAC Collection. It opens up the debate on this collection, its future, its importance and its needs, whilst exploring its possibilities as the main public collection of contemporary art in Galicia.
