Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Galician Centre of Contemporary Art (CGAC), this year the Compostela Cinema Club is running a special edition of summer cinema with a selection of five films based on celebrations, involving very different perspectives and circumstances.

Fernando Jose Pereira’s activity, which includes several resources and begins essentially in the nineteen-nineties, prefers the use of facilities and videos as mechanisms for carrying out a critical review of institutional criticism itself. Aware of the limitations of many of the proposals that are structured from the ambiguity involved in working critically on the institutional apparatus from a false exteriority, this author prefers to interact actively with the models, and is aware from the beginning that they are excessively coded and symbolically overloaded.
Fashion is an important economic sector with an ever increasing presence in daily life: it’s on the street and in the media and forms part of recreational and cultural activities.
Once again, we will walk through the streets of Santiago de Compostela; on this occasion, to talk about architecture as a container for cultural spaces. To do this, we will stop at some of these places where, beyond simply creating spaces intended to provide a service, architecture can and should be an inspiring element that accompanies and enhances the experience of the visit.
Ever since motion pictures began telling stories, the focus of attraction of countless films, regardless of their genre, has undoubtedly been the love story. The body and face of film stars became the centre of attraction on the screen; objects of admiration for filmmakers and spectators.
With renowned individual careers, for more than three decades, Concha Jerez (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1941) and José Iges (Madrid, 1951) have simultaneously developed a common production. On the occasion of the exhibition titled Resignifications, they will present live in the CGAC some of their individual and joint works. The centre will also organise a round table in which the artists will talk about the evolution of their work with different specialists nationwide.
